Court Trip - Day 2 - July 21st

After sleeping more than 12 hours the first night, we woke up refreshed and ready for the new day! With all of my enthusiasm, I slipped getting into the shower and bruised my leg really badly. Of course, I sucked it up and tried not to complain about the pain throughout the trip (I saved that for when we got home, when I went to Urgent Care and they sent me for x-rays, which revealed that I'm perfectly fine).

Other families were set to arrive that morning and evening, so we were still the only family at the guesthouse. We had french toast, bananas, and banana/mango smoothies for breakfast. YUM! We were picked up around 10:30am to go to the orphanage.

After our crazy day the day before, we were ready to see Keane again. When we arrived and walked through the gates, the toddlers were outside and one of the little girls ran right up to Mike and basically jumped into his arms. Then, they started saying, "Family, Family, Family". It was so sweet, but heartbreaking at the same time. They put us in a different room with a blanket on the floor for us to play on, and they brought out only a few of the younger kids, so we didn't have the toddlers to contend with. It was such a different feel than the day before, and Mike actually let me hold Keane for awhile. :) I was able to feed him a little, and then the nanny took him away from me, because I wasn't doing it right and he started to cry. Once the nanny was done feeding him, he fell asleep in my arms. So sweet!

We only stayed there for a little over an hour that day, and then the kids had to take naps, so they picked us up and we went to Lucy Restaurant for lunch with Abel and another family that were there for their Embassy appointment and had their two boys with them. When we returned to the guesthouse, ttwo more families arrived - one from New Jersey and one from Indiana! They were heading out to the older children's orphanage to visit their children, so we relaxed at the guesthouse for awhile. When they came back, we all had dinner together and got to know each other better. (I think we had pasta and a spicy salad for dinner.) It was such a great day!
