4 weeks!

Wow! We are leaving in 4 weeks to meet our son! It feels so surreal to start preparing for this trip! So many things to do, so little time.

Since we've received our court date, I've felt so much more at peace. I cannot wait to officially become Keane's mom. We have already been notified that we won't be approved by the court while we are in Ethiopia, because there is some additional documentation that the judge will be requesting on the day that we meet with her. We will fly home and wait for everything to be finalized. We are hopeful that it will only take a few weeks to get the additional documents and a letter from the approving agency in Ethiopia, and then we should learn that we have been approved by the court and that we are officially a family of three! I can't wait to hear those words!

After that, we will be waiting for Keane's birth certificate and passport to be issued, and then our case will be submitted to the US Embassy in Ethiopia in order to obtain a Visa for baby Keane to return to the US with us. We will be given a date for our Visa interview at the embassy, and then we will travel for the second time - this time to bring our son home!
